Role Overview
The Senior Manager – HR & IR will lead the Human Resources and Industrial Relations function across multiple manufacturing locations. This role is responsible for ensuring effective manpower management, harmonious industrial relations, compliance with statutory requirements, and implementation of HR systems that strengthen plant operations. The position plays a critical role in maintaining workforce discipline, driving employee development, and safeguarding a productive and compliant work environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Human Resource Development
Lead end-to-end recruitment of blue-collar workforce as per business requirements.
Design, plan and execute Training & Development programs to upgrade workforce skills.
Drive KRA setting, mid-year, and annual performance review cycles at plant level.
Plan and implement employee engagement initiatives and welfare programs to enhance morale and productivity.
2. Industrial Relations
Handle Union interactions, negotiations, and maintain harmonious industrial relations.
Must have direct exposure to wage settlement process.
Manage disciplinary procedures, domestic enquiries, and grievance handling as per statutory norms.
Coordinate with legal counsel for court cases related to labour matters.
Oversee effective deployment and management of contractual manpower.
Ensure 100% statutory compliance for all plant and warehouse locations.
Liaison with government authorities, labour department, and statutory bodies.
Manage and track timely renewal of all statutory licenses (Factory License, Form No. 37, statutory testing, etc.).
Ability to manage and report fatal/serious accident cases as per legal and company protocols.
3. Plant Administration
Oversee canteen operations including vendor management, hygiene, and cost control.
Manage transportation and admin facilities at plant.
Manage welfare items, uniforms, PPE, and statutory welfare provisions.
Source, evaluate, and finalize plant-level administrative and service contracts.
Ensure adherence to ISO systems, audits, and documentation.
Essential Requirements
Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management.
15+ years of experience in HR & IR with strong exposure to manufacturing environments.
Proven expertise in Industrial Relations, labour laws, statutory compliance, and contract labour management.
Strong liaisoning capability with government authorities and local bodies.
Experience in handling unions and labour dispute resolution is mandatory.
