Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Travel Counsellor with a strong focus on international ticketing. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of Global Distribution Systems (GDS) such as Sabre, Amadeus, and Galileo, along with a proven track record in handling complex international travel itineraries. You will be responsible for providing expert advice, creating customized travel solutions, and ensuring seamless travel experiences for our clients.

Responsibilities:

• International Ticketing Expertise:

  • Handle complex international flight bookings, including multi-city itineraries, round-the-world trips, and open-jaw tickets.

  • Expertly utilize GDS systems (Sabre, Amadeus, Galileo) for flight reservations, fare calculations, and ticketing.

  • Stay updated on airline fare rules, regulations, and promotional offers.

  • Issue, reissue, and refund international airline tickets accurately and efficiently.

• GDS Proficiency:

  • Demonstrate advanced proficiency in using GDS systems for flight availability, fare quoting, and PNR management.

  • Utilize GDS tools and functionalities to optimize flight bookings and find the best travel options for clients.

  • Troubleshoot GDS-related issues and provide technical support to clients and colleagues.

• Travel Consultation and Customer Service:

  • Provide expert travel advice and guidance to clients regarding international destinations, visa requirements, and travel regulations.

  • Create personalized travel itineraries based on client preferences and budgets.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring exceptional customer service throughout the travel process.

  • Handle travel-related inquiries, resolve issues, and provide timely support to clients.

• Sales and Revenue Generation:

  • Promote and sell international travel packages, flights, and ancillary services.

  • Achieve sales targets and contribute to the company's revenue growth.

  • Identify and pursue opportunities to cross-sell and upsell travel products.

• Documentation and Compliance:

  • Ensure accurate and complete documentation of all travel bookings and transactions.

  • Adhere to travel industry regulations and company policies.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of visa requirements, passport regulations, and other travel-related documentation.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Travel Counsellor with a focus on international ticketing.

• Extensive knowledge and proficiency in using GDS systems (Sabre, Amadeus, Galileo).

• Strong understanding of international airline fare rules, regulations, and ticketing procedures.

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Strong organizational and time management skills.  

• Ability to handle complex travel itineraries and resolve travel-related issues.  

• Knowledge of visa requirements, passport regulations, and other travel-related documentation.

• Strong sales and negotiation skills.

• Certification in GDS systems is a plus.
